The Chilean Danish Business Council (CDBC) was established on 2 June 2004, with the first official meeting taking place 3 September 2004. At present the Council counts 18 members.
The Council is an informal forum where businesses and business representatives with activities in Chile and Denmark can establish a network and where it is possible to meet and exchange ideas and experiences. Membership is open to all businesses and business representatives with an interest in Chilean-Danish commercial relations.
The Council meets 4-5 times a year and relevant guest speakers may be invited. Company visits can be arranged, as well as business-to-business meetings. The members actively run the Council, while the Embassy of Denmark in Santiago acts as secretariat.
Members will receive the publication Focus Denmark and other relevant material. Invitations to special events that may be of interest will be sent to the members and it is possible for members to participate in joint Nordic events arranged by the Nordic Chambers of Commerce/Business Councils.
The membership year runs from 1 January to 31 December. The membership fee is CLP 395,000 pr. person/company. Only one name can be connected to one membership – however, this does not exclude the possibility of sending a representative to a meeting on your behalf. In fact we encourage the companies to be present at every meeting/event.
The fee covers the cost of the secretariat. When wishes to invite non-members to the meetings are presented, the secretariat will evaluate the possibility of participation depending on the physical space available. Breakfast or a light lunch when meetings are held at the Embassy is included. In the event that a meeting takes place at another location than at the Embassy, the associated costs will be charged separately, if relevant.
